Fr. Marlon Mateo

Fr. Marlon Mateo was born and raised in the Philippines. He came to Toronto, Canada in 1999 and was ordained as a priest on December 19, 2009 for the Order of Carmelites. He spent several years in secondary education as a teacher for 6 years in Chicago and 2 years in Encino, CA.

Prior to joining the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, he served as an Associate Pastor at Holy Family South Pasadena from 2016-2018 and then Holy Family Church in Glendale from 2018-2022. In September 2021, Fr. Mateo was formally incardinated as a priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Fr. Marlon enjoys traveling, good food and time with friends. He began his ministry as an Administrator here at St. Clare on July 1st, 2022.

Fr. Marko Rudela

Fr. Marko Rudela's journey to the priesthood began when he was in college, praying the Rosary and attending frequent Eucharist Adoration. Through these devotions, he felt Our Lord's call to offer his life to God as a priest. He joined St. John's Seminary, Camarillo and was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles June 1st, 2024.

Fr. Marko has been involved in many ministries, like the Vocation Holy Hour and Rosary, after the 9AM Mass. His assignment to St. Clare parish became official on July 1st, 2024.

Few fun facts about Fr. Marko, he was born in downtown Los Angeles and raised in Covina. His family is from Croatia. In his free timhe enjoys cooking hiking, and watching soccer (especially when the Croatian national team plays).

Fr. Alfredo Quezada

Fr. Jesús Alfredo Quezada Ávila was born on April 18, 1972, in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico. He has three sisters and one brother, who is also a priest currently serving in Aguascalientes.

He studied at the Diocesan Seminary of Aguascalientes and was ordained to the priesthood on June 3, 1999, in his home diocese. In 2004, he was sent to Rome, Italy, where he earned a bachelor's degree in education sciences. He returned in 2007 to continue his ministry in Aguascalientes.

He served as director of children's catechesis for three years before being assigned to the Diocese of Phoenix, Arizona, where he ministered to the Hispanic community from 2012 to 2019. After returning to Aguascalientes, he was later sent to the Diocese of Birmingham, Alabama, in 2021, where he served for two years before once again returning to his diocese.

He is now joyfully serving in our parish community of St. Clare of Assisi. With a heart rooted in faith and service, he prays that Christ the Priest will grant him the grace to serve each person with love and dedication.
